One Breath Man
2014 -
Modelling Clay
Size Variable
I make art and I teach swimming.

I always want to combine my art practice with daily encounters with others.

It is interesting to obverse people's fear toward water and how they show improvement after a few swimming classes. Many beginners are afraid of staying in water that is above of their height; and "swimming" itself is more about how to control the body consciously and how to overcome that fear.

Through the process of creating a simple human figure sculpture inside a deep water (about 2m depth) with only one breath allowed, students express their ability to challenge themselves and show their creativity in only one breath, where time, as a matter of physical limit, affects their performances.
