Live Performance Documentary (Colour, HD video, stereo), paper, lemon juice
There are many lemon farms in Blanca, Spain. Cultivated in Murcia since the fifteenth century, the conditions generated by the Mediterranean climate make this region ideal for lemon production, especially along the entire Vega del Río Segura. Currently, Spain is the main lemon-producing country in the basin Mediterranean, with a production of 961,000 tons, surpassing Italy and Turkey.
The artist picked lemons that grow outside from the fence of the farm fields. Conceptually the ownership of those territories are vague. These in-between zones create some interesting questions, for instance, who literally owns the resources that are necessary to grow the lemons? Who is then the owner of the sun, water and the soils? Do we, human beings, literally own anything on this planet?
Employing lemon juices as the invisible inks, the artist expressed his thoughts into the paper and these messages can be read by heating the papers in order to reveal the messages.
